Taking a Step back...
Pride seems to overwhelm people's judgments and their present situations. Pride is one of those unruly viruses that attack the mental state of people and have them choose things that really don't matter most. We all care what people think and feel. If we didn't we wouldn't have so many political opinions and bickering amongst ourselves. It's hard to overcome the little things when they bog down your brain to no END!! I say, "Take a step back.." is it really that important? Do you really need the new purse, the new car, the expensive clothes, the approval from others, and the "reputation"money focuses on? Or that "friend" that only needs you in the darkness of their lives? I read, the definition of success is pleasure. You can have all the money in the world, but if you are not pleased or satisfied with yourself, it means nothing. Doing the things you like most is a feeling of success even if it doesn't bring a penny to your pocket. When you know you have outdone yourself and exceeded the possibilities of your current situation, it's okay to take a step back. No one will notice. Only you will notice. Most people aren't looking to give the stamp of approval to others, they normally are in the same situation as you. They are normally too worried about themselves and what other's are thinking of them. John C Maxwell writes in his book "Failing Forward," about 15 steps to removing yourself from failure. The one that sticks the most is, "Get over yourself, everyone else has." It's not all about you! It's about recreating and learning from what you've done in your life that has led you to the current situation. Everyday is a learning process, most of us have mastered the art of getting ourselves ready in the morning. But what else have we taught ourselves? Have we learned to wake up and do 20 push ups, to increase the chances of better health? Have we learned to floss our teeth, so that we won't be paying thousands of dollars in our elder years for prosthetics? Have we learned to tell ourselves that I will make today a day of worth, moving towards a realistic goal? I believe we all fall short of many capabilities that we have abilities for. We allow our SHORTCOMINGS enrich our becoming. Just take a step back, breath, relax, and realize that you are not the only one and not the last. Life is a process that require stepping stones leading to ultimately what you choose. Everyone will have a different objective, but everyone has a purpose. Is what you are doing today, the reason you believe you are supposed to be here? Most o
